Private chef checklist for a villa holiday

Use this checklist when you plan a private chef for a villa stay. It covers what to decide, what to ask and what to confirm in writing.

Decide

  • Which days and which meals you want covered
  • The number of adults and children, and their ages
  • Any allergies, intolerances or religious dietary rules
  • The style you prefer: fine dining, barbecue or family style
  • Your wine and drinks preferences

Ask the chef

  • Do you shop, and are groceries billed at cost?
  • Do you clean the kitchen after each meal?
  • Do you need anything from the villa, such as a barbecue, an oven or extra fridge space?
  • Can you cook a children's menu and adapt meals for fussy eaters?
  • What happens if our plans change?

Confirm in writing

  • Dates, meals and number of guests
  • The fee, what it includes and what is billed separately
  • Travel costs, if any
  • The deposit and balance dates and the cancellation terms

A note on timing

Summer weekends and school holidays book first. Reach out several months ahead for peak weeks, and secure the date with a deposit.
